‘Changes in technology over the last 20 years have meant that type is now not only regarded as a carrier of information but a design tool. In particular, its importance within branding/corporate identity will be assessed and the practical issues in creating type for such an environment demonstrated.’

Bruno Maag was born in Zurich, Switzerland. He served a 4 year apprenticeship as a typesetter (hand composing) at Tages-Anzeiger, Zurich, followed by 4 years study in Typography and Visual Communications at Basel School of Design. He has worked at Monotype, both here in the UK and in the USA. Since 1991 he has been a partner in Dalton Maag, a leading typographic branding consultancy in London.
