Our collections cover printing and related subjects: paper and binding, graphic design and typography, typefaces and calligraphy, illustration and printmaking, publishing and book-selling and the social and economic aspects of the printing, book, newspaper and magazine trades.

Become a Reader

Before you can use the Reading Room and library facilities you will need an Annual Reader Card. This can be issued on your first visit for a processing fee of £5 if you have photo ID such as a passport, driving licence, Freedom Pass or student identity card, together with evidence of your home address in the form of a recent utility bill. Photocopies can be supplied, and photography for non-commercial use is permitted on payment of a daily fee of £2. More information
