Temporary closure of the reading room

St Bride Library will be closed from the week commencing 3 September 2007. We will then re-open in a new location within the building

Moving the reading room is part of the redevelopment of St Bride Foundation. Our new location will allow us to provide better access to all our readers and to make a greater percentage of the collections more readily available. In the longer term, we will also be developing a more versatile and interactive library and museum space, with an extensive programme of lectures and workshops.

Update: the Library is pleased to announce that it will be re-opening at mid-day on Tuesday 20 November – 112 years from the day of the original opening in 1895. We apologise for the additional period of closure and look forward to welcoming you then.
