How to get to the Library

Bride Lane is near Ludgate Circus, between Fleet Street and New Bridge Street. The Library is within the St Bride Institute, and signs direct you to the Reading Room from the Institute’s main entrances.

The nearest underground station is Blackfriars (Circle and District) but this is closed until late 2011; use Temple instead. Also within easy walking distance are St Pauls (Central), Farringdon (Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith and City) and Chancery Lane (Central) underground stations. The nearest mainline railway station is City Thameslink on Ludgate Hill. Bus routes 4, 11, 15, 23, 26, 76, 172 run through Fleet Street. Routes 45, 63 and 100 run through New Bridge Street, and route 17 runs along Farringdon Street and Ludgate Hill via Ludgate Circus.
