It may have been around for a very long time, and house some rather old books in a particularly quirky building, but don’t think the Library only serves those with a theoretical interest in typography and its history: it also has a role within the modern printing and graphics industries and caters for current practitioners from every branch of the trade who are served by librarians who know about print, both its past and present, and who have an empirical knowledge of the collection.
